The Organizing Committee of GeoVancouver 2016 calls for members of the Canadian and international geotechnical community to contribute recent research developments and advancement in their respective fields of interest and practice.
The Technical Subcommittee is seeking case studies and papers dealing with historical design and construction practices or innovative analysis, techniques and solutions. We also encourage papers and poster presentations on recent trends and future prospects in research.
Authors are invited to submit abstracts of a maximum of 400 words by January 29, 2016 through the Online Submission page of the Conference website. Abstracts can be written in English or French.
Abstracts should generally fall within the following themes:
Infrastructure Design and Operation
Problematic Soils and Ground Improvement
Soil and Terrain Characterization
Cold Regions Engineering
Groundwater and Hydrogeology
Education and Professional Practice
Invitations for submission of full papers will be sent to authors whose abstracts are accepted by the Conference’s Technical Subcommittee by February 26, 2016. The submitted papers will be reviewed prior to final acceptance for inclusion in the conference proceedings. At least one author of an accepted paper must register for the conference in order to upload a final paper and to be invited to make a presentation in the technical program.
Authors of accepted abstracts must submit their full paper by June 3, 2016, along with at least one full conference registration. Authors are expected to present their paper during the conference.
Full papers will be reviewed for clarity and technical merit. In cases where the reviewers feel revisions are necessary, reviewer’s comments will be provided by July 5, 2016 and revised papers are to be submitted by July 22, 2016. Accepted papers, where at least one author has registered for the conference, will be included in published proceedings of the conference on a USB key, which each registrant will received as part of their registration fee.
Final decisions regarding the technical merit, relevance, and assigned session topic for accepted papers are the responsibility of the Technical Subcommittee. As such, questions regarding sessions, topics and the technical program should be directed to the Technical Subcommittee.
