Geohazards Impacting Transportation in Appalachia – Call for Abstracts

Call for Abstracts
The 2015 Annual Technical Forum for Geohazards Impacting Transportation will be hosted by West Virginia Division of Highways and sponsored by the Marshall University Center for Environmental, Geotechnical and Applied Sciences (CEGAS). The 2015 Forum will include a pre-conference field trip on Tuesday August 4, 2015.

This year’s technical sessions will focus on the following major topics:

Transportation Infrastructure
Innovative Landslide/Rockfall Mitigation
Impacts of Mining, Oil and Gas Extraction
Problem Soils and Soils Improvement
Geophysics and Remote Sensing
Drill Shafts and Deep Foundations
Risk Assessment
Geohazards Mapping
Modelling

Abstracts on the related topics are welcome. Abstracts should be submitted for consideration, for presentation at the Forum, on or before June 1, 2015. Abstracts should be in Microsoft Word format, Times New Roman, 12-pitch, double-spaced and left justified, and be 300 words or less. The abstract should include the presentation title, presenters’ names, title, organization or company affiliation, business address, phone number and email address.

Selected presenters will be notified by June 15, 2015, and PowerPoint presentations will be due on or before July 15, 2015.
