Southwest Geotechnical Engineering Conference May 9, 2016

The Southwest Geotechnical Engineering Conference for 2016 will be hosted by the Kansas Department of Transportation in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The actual location will be in Olathe which is on the southwest side of the immediate metropolitan area. Air service will be through Kansas City International Airport (airport code MCI). We anticipate hosting, once again, Federal Highway officials and State DOT officials from Hawaii, California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Kansas as well as a variety of technical professionals. We also anticipate outreach efforts not only to local branches of government but Kansas City is headquarters of several national and international engineering firms and we anticipate attendance from HNTB, Burns & McDonnell, TranSystems, Terracon, and Black & Veatch to name a few.

The conference location is at the Olathe Conference Center Embassy Suites, located at 10401 S. Ridgeview Road, Olathe, Kansas starting on May 9 with a reception followed by two days of talks and a field trip on Thursday. The field trip will be to the Kansas Cosmoshpere in Hutchinson, KS.
